Research Interest and expertise in the field of nutraceuticals and functional food
I work on glucose metabolism, glucose homeostasis and type two diabetes. I develop and apply mathematical methods and models for the analysis of clinical data on this field. In particular, I can use gold standard methods for the study of insulin sensitivity, beta-cell function, insulin clearance, gastric emptying, and glucose absorption, from human experiments with or without tracers. I recently started working also on omics data and their link with the clinical metabolism data.
